Does Asda test on animals?
Asda says it doesn't test on animals, but it isn't certified, so nobody independent has checked. What it says is below.
What they say: Asda says it doesn't conduct or commission animal tests on its own-brand beauty, toiletry or household products, and doesn't ask suppliers or anyone else to. It says this applies from fixed cut-off dates: 31 December 2009 for cosmetics and 31 December 2015 for cleaning products.
What that means: Asda isn't certified by Leaping Bunny / Cruelty Free International or PETA yet, so nobody independent has checked this. Plenty of honest brands haven't applied, and some products, like paper goods, don't fit the main schemes well. It's the brand's word, so the choice is yours.
