Says it's cruelty-free. Not certified yet.
St Ives says it was certified cruelty-free by PETA in December 2018, but I couldn't find it on PETA's cruelty-free list in October 2026, so it isn't currently listed as certified. Owned by Evermark, which is backed by Yellow Wood Partners, after Unilever sold it.

Does St Ives test on animals?
St Ives says it doesn't test on animals, but it isn't certified, so nobody independent has checked. What it says is below.
What they say: Its FAQ says St. Ives was officially PETA-certified cruelty-free across its entire range as of December 2018, and that it is committed to never testing on animals.
What that means: St Ives isn't certified by Leaping Bunny / Cruelty Free International or PETA yet, so nobody independent has checked this. Plenty of honest brands haven't applied, and some products, like paper goods, don't fit the main schemes well. It's the brand's word, so the choice is yours.
