Tests on animals, or sells where it's required.

Owned by Essential Home since 31 December 2025, when Advent International bought it from Reckitt (which kept a 30% stake). Reckitt's policy, which applied while it owned the brand, says it tests where regulators require it. I haven't confirmed Essential Home's own animal testing policy.

Does Cillit Bang test on animals?

Yes, or it sells where animal testing is required. Cillit Bang is owned by Essential Home (Advent International). The sources are below. See every company that tests on animals.

a vegan label here doesn't make it cruelty-free. Cillit Bang isn't on the cruelty-free list because of the company's wider testing policy, not because of what's in any one product. Buying a vegan-labelled item from them still puts money behind a company that tests on animals elsewhere in its business.
