Questions
Which big companies test on animals?
Companies such as Procter & Gamble, Unilever, L'Oréal, Estée Lauder, Johnson & Johnson, Colgate-Palmolive, Reckitt and Church & Dwight test on animals or sell where testing is required by law. Some of their individual brands are certified cruelty-free; those are listed separately below the main list.
Is a brand cruelty-free if it says it doesn't test on animals?
Not always. Many brands say they don't test unless required by law, which means they still sell where animal tests are required. Look for Leaping Bunny / Cruelty Free International or PETA certification.
How often is this list updated?
Every time a brand on a home kind changes. The date at the top shows the last update.
